Our Work in the Neighborhood
-
Neighborhood Conditions
LNHNA advocates for cleaner, safer, and more responsive neighborhood services. This includes working with City departments, service providers, and public safety partners to improve coordination, strengthen communication, and address the everyday conditions that affect residents, businesses, and visitors in our community.
-
Community Building
LNHNA brings neighbors together through social gatherings, public forums, community conversations, and events that foster connection, learning, and shared civic action. From our monthly community meetings to our annual holiday party, we continually explore ways to keep our community actively engaged.
-
Open Space & Public Realm
Lower Nob Hill is one of San Francisco’s densest neighborhoods, with limited access to traditional parks and open space. LNHNA works to advance public open-space advocacy and pop-up activations that demonstrate what is possible in a dense urban neighborhood. In 2025 alone, our group met with Rec & Park to make a case to transform a local parking lot into a city park, held a pop-up block party in neighboring parcel, opened up communications to Park Commissioners, suggested more potential open space parcels for RPD, and more. This year, we have received additional power washing from DPW, received a grant to install additional street lighting, filled empty tree wells, and are participating in SFMTA’s Community Corner’s program.

Small Business & Partnerships
Small businesses and strong partnerships are essential to our neighborhood. LNHNA supports local businesses by strengthening neighborhood connections, advocating for improved conditions, and creating opportunities for businesses to engage in community initiatives. We work closely with City leaders, service providers, and community partners to ensure Lower Nob Hill has a clear and organized voice in decisions that shape Lower Nob Hill’s future.
