Lower Nob Hill is one of San Francisco’s most historic, dense, and dynamic urban neighborhoods — 25 blocks in the heart of the city, west of Union Square. Founded during the height of the COVID pandemic, the Lower Nob Hill Neighborhood Alliance was created to give residents a stronger voice during a time of rapid change. Today, LNHNA has grown into a more established civic organization bringing neighbors, small businesses, and community partners together to support a safer, greener, and more connected neighborhood.

Neighborhood Conditions
We advocate for cleaner, safer, and more responsive neighborhood services. This includes working with City departments, service providers, and public safety partners to improve coordination, strengthen communication, and address the everyday conditions that affect residents, businesses, and visitors.

Open Space & Public Realm
Lower Nob Hill is one of San Francisco’s densest neighborhoods, with limited access to traditional parks. LNHNA works to advance a greener, more welcoming public realm through open-space advocacy and pop-up activations that demonstrate what is possible in a dense urban neighborhood. Our 2025 Annual Report highlights the Open Space Working Group and Cosmo Court activation as part of this evolving focus.

We work closely with City leaders, departments, service providers, and community partners to ensure Lower Nob Hill has a clear and organized voice in decisions that shape the neighborhood’s future.
